Hi, I’m Janelle, though most people online know me as Petranelle. I’m a traveler, storyteller and creator who’s happiest with a camera in hand and a new place to explore.
I’ve visited a few countries, from Japan’s serene temples to Iceland’s steaming hot springs. I spent two years living in Japan, a time that shaped how I see the world and taught me to find comfort in the unknown.
Travel has changed my life. It’s given me courage, patience and perspective. This blog is where I share those lessons through stories, guides and honest reflections that make travel feel both inspiring and possible.

When I’m not travelling, I’m working on 10DLCCheck.com, a free tool that helps small businesses stay compliant with text message rules in the United States. It’s a completely different kind of project but it reflects the same curiosity and problem-solving that fuel my travels.
